Christmas Time Is Here...

Last night we decided that since work is about to get crazy busy for Kim, it was time to bundle Maisey up and go hunting for a Christmas tree. We think we found the perfect one and Maisey helped of course. We put up a few pics of our adventure, hope you enjoy them :o)

It's Been Awhile...

So, although we have been horrible at keeping our blog up to date, Maisey has failed to stop growing and changing on what seems like a daily basis. This week, December 9th to be exact, our baby girl turns six months old! I just can't believe it! Here are some of the special moments from the last few months. I hope you enjoy sharing them with us!

I believe that in our last post, we had just returned from Maisey's first trip which was a long weekend in San Diego with Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Dustin and cousins Quin and Gage. Of course while at Sea World, Grandpa had to buy Maisey a souvenir. Below is Maisey sportin' the Sea World hat that went with a complete outfit that Grandpa bought her.

With Kim workin' at church and life seeming to fly by faster than we can imagine, Maisey always gets taken along for the ride. This weekend was a little too much fun for her. She decided to completely crash. Fortunately for us, it was a perfect, cute photo op!

One of the things that I love the most about being a parent and watching Maisey grow up is when she gets to meet her new friends. Below is the first time that Maisey met Madelyn. Here, the papas got to show of their girls. I think that Josh is lovin' being a dad. Kim and Jen are going to be having a play date soon with our friends Pauline and Allison, so i'm sure that there will be some good friends pictures soon to come!

As parents, me and Kim have realized the importance of values. One of our values that we hold true to is a commitment to the Maroon and Gold. Here is Maisey taking in her first ASU football game. You can see a proud Grandpa in the background. It was so fun watching her that night. She literally stayed up nearly all but the last minute of the game. Now we just need to instill some more biblical values like Revelations 21:8, "Liars go to Tucson" :o)

One Friday, we were lucky to have Grandma Bev stop by to hang out a little and love on Maisey. Maisey decided to not be a booty butt that day and give Grandma some cuddles and smiles.

We also posted a little video clip of this below, but here is a pic of Maisey and Daddy after Maisey had her first taste of solid food. It is a lot more time consuming that I thought it would be. Since then she has had some sweet potatoes (as you can also see below) as well as bananas. This girl likes her food!

Since we first loved Maisey, one of the things that we have found adorable about her is that whenever she cried and went into diva mode, she would cry...cry...cry and then throw her head back and moo. Because of this we began to call her Maisey Moo. Well this Halloween, we originally were going to dress her up as a skunk because she, at times, can be the stinkiest baby (literally...i think that the girl has a gas leak), but once that costume fell through there was only one obvious chioce left. I present to you, Maisey Moosers!

And this one is just a cute pic that we threw in for good measure!

We also added videos of some of our favorite Maisey moments and milestones. We love our little girl and understand that you may not find her as adorable as we do, but we look forward to watching er grow even more (but not too quickly).

While the nephews were in town...

Over the last couple of weeks, we were able to spend some time with the nephews who came for their annual visit. Since they live in Connecticut it is hard to see them often, so we try to have as much fun as we can while they are here. I decided to post some of the pictures of our adventures, I hope that you enjoy them!
While the boys were here, me and Grandpa were able to take the
boys to their first MLB game and the DBacks even won! The boys had
more fun than the pictures indicate!

This was also the first time that the boys were able to meet their new cousin.
Unfortunately while they were here, Maisey was in an "I want mommy and
daddy only" mood, so the pics are of a fussy girl. We also quickly found out
that Gage does not like to ride in the car with me and Aunt Kim while Maisey
is fussy. Gage quote "She is so annoying!" We know that he meant it with love :)

We decided to surprise the nephews this year with a trip to San Deigo! They seemed
to have more fun on this trip than last years trip to Disneyland. I know, go figure!

We quickly found out that Maisey isn't the biggest fan of the ocean yet.

But she loved napping at the beach!

A few pics from our days at Sea World.

Back to the Life!

Today was my first day back to work and, I have to say, it went much better than I had anticipated. In the last two weeks Maisey has started believing that life is better when she's in my arms and makes sure that everyone knows that is where she wants to be. The first day we noticed this change was at lunch with my mom. Maisey had fallen asleep so I passed her to grandma and somewhere in the middle of her sleep she opened one eye, looked at my mom, realized what had happened, and began screaming bloody murder. Now, this has become a more consistant reaction. Needless to say, not only does this drive those who love her and want to hold her crazy but, it also raised my anxiety about leaving her alone. My concern wasn't all for Maisey as a good cry has never perminantly scarred a baby but for those who have to deal with her! Today I worked half the day and, other than Uncle Dustin getting to experience quite the blow-out, I got a great report! She ate, she slept, and overall everything was well in her world.

Last week Maisey got to experience lots of firsts:

First time camping
First time at Sea World
First time going to the beach--and putting those cute toes in the ocean
AND--First time being stuck in the car for hours on end
(Pictures to come)

This week Maisey will have another busy week with mommy going back to work, her joining me for Leadership Summit, experiencing a longer weekend at church, and having her 2 month doctor's appointment. I can't believe it has been 8 weeks! Where does the time go? We've got so much to share from this last month and, as soon as we get our feet back under us, we'll get the pictures transferred to the computer so we can share how much Maisey has grown.

Maisey One Month Photos

Today we were able to get together with good friends of ours and take some "One Month" photos of Maisey. I figured that we would post some on here so that we can share the moment with our friends. We hope that you like the pics. If you are interested in our photographer, you can see some of his work at RobertJamesPhotography.net.

You can also see the whole "One Month" set as well as some that we took while Kim was pregnant at http://robertjames.smugmug.com/gallery/8886553_GfSnn#589203036_SfrxQ

What a Week!

I'm not sure we'll ever have a dull moment again! Not only did Maisey turn a month old this week but, we got to experience her first diaper blowout while eating lunch with Allison and the boys, went to Maisey's first Diamondbacks game with Grandpa and Uncle Dustin, and learned that any spice in my diet is not ok with Miss Maisey (very bad day for Mommy).

1. All I can say is, "Growdy." Thanks Alli for helping me clean up her messy car seat! When it blows, nothing seems to survive; not even Mommy's pants.

2. So fun to see Maisey experience the sights and sounds of the ballpark as well as her proud Grandpa! I wish we'd gotten on video the first time she heard the crowd go wild...not impressed! :)

3. Oh spice, how I will miss you this next year

One Month Old

It's crazy but, Maisey is officially one month old. It doesn't seem like there's been that much time between her birth and now but at the same time it feels like she's always been a part of our family. Here are some of the many things I have learned this first month:
1. No one can describe how much you'll adore your children
2. Books do not hold all the answers but they're a great base line. Every child is different and it's a good thing you can learn as you go.

3. Third time's the charm! No one would have guessed based on the video of her first time swimming but, Maisey enjoyed her time in the pool July 4th!

4. Sleep is overrated (at least that's what I tell myself)

5. Schedule's are great but flexibility is a must (hard for planners like me)

6. It's amazing what you can clean with one hand

7. Great husbands are hard to find. So thankful for mine!

and last but not least....

8. Time goes so incredibly fast. I'm so afraid it's going too fast and I won't be able to hold onto these precious moments.

Happy one month my precious Maisey!

Home Again, Home Again Jiggity Jig

We've officially been home for 24 wonderful hours and things couldn't be better. Maisey seems to be doing better with understanding the whole day and night thing and is getting on more of a regular feeding schedule. This on top of not having nurses coming in and out of the room every few hours has really made the transition from hospital to home awesome! Brian, being the proud papa he is, can't wait to take her out to meet everyone. He was talking about taking her to church tonight which I had to veto for right now but soon enough she'll make her public debut. I love being a mom and can't believe that I have such a beautiful little girl. It's amazing how you can get so lost in every face they make and how much adding her to our family as already blessed us so much. Here are a few pics from the first 24 hours home. Now, tell me she's not the sweetest thing you've ever seen. :)

Nap time with daddy

I LOVE my bath time ! : ) (or not...)
